Is Vetport medical record system difficult to use?
The logic that runs Vetport’s EMR is extremely complex, but we have made it as user friendly as possible. That said, it will require a commitment from the user to become comfortable with it. The POMR (Problem Oriented Medical Record) is a complex system on its own. We believe Vetport’s allows a thorough POMR to be kept that would otherwise be virtually impossible by hand. If you are ready to practice at the next levels then Vetport’s POMR/EMR is worth learning.
Is Medisoft the only software I need?
Yes, Medisoft is a complete practice management and medical billing software. Everything for patient, insurance, billing, and payment information is there out-of-the-box.MDC will run reports for Patient Accounts Receivables, Insurance Company Receivables, Patient with EDC’s, Day Sheets, Date Selected Transactions, History on HCFA and Statement printouts, CPT Usage and efficiency, and ICD9 Usage. How often should I backup my data file?
You should backup your data file every day. Depending on the size of your data file, you may or may not be able to save it to a floppy disk. If the file becomes too large to fit on a floppy, you should either save it to another computer on your network (if you’re running a network), or save it to a zip drive. Create multiple locations for your backup data file and rotate where you save your data file. Will MDC run on Windows XP?
Yes. You must be set up as an Administrator in order to install and setup MDC for the first time. MDC was designed using XP as a base operating system. We have tested the software on all platforms including Windows 98, ME, XP, and 2000. If you need to transfer your database to another computer, you’ll need to Backup your database on the existing computer, and then Restore the database on the new computer.
