What You Can Do to Get Rid of Bug Bites in Bed

Do you have a feeling that you have night bug bites in bed? If you think so then you should act quickly. Bed bugs can quickly multiply and make it difficult for you to get rid of them. Here are some ways to flush them out of your life.

Recognize the Bugs

Some people can go on getting bitten without knowing what bed bugs look like. The first real step to solving your problem though is to recognize the bugs that need exterminating. Bed bugs are brown in color, oval and have flat bodies. They usually grow no bigger than of an inch. They move quickly but it can leave traces of its presence. In the morning your sheets might contain small bloodstains, fecal stains or discarded shells. You would also know if bed bugs are around if you have a cluster of raised bumps on your skin.

Locate the Bugs

Once you know what they look like, the next step is to find them. Your mattress is naturally the first area to look into. Inspect the folds and creases of your mattress because this is where they would usually hide. They can also be found in the corners and spaces of your bed frame. Aside from these common areas, you should also take a look at the chairs, tables, rugs, stuffed toys, walls and picture frames in the room.

Prevent them from Coming

Now you know the answer to what do bed bugs look like so you can get rid of them properly. The best way to eliminate them though is to prevent an infestation in the first place. You can do that by making sure that you carefully inspect any second hand furniture that you bring into your room. You should also check your luggage and clothes if you have been on a trip and slept in a motel or hotel.

Throw Out the Bugs

In spite of your best efforts, you may not always succeed at preventing the bugs from coming in. If you already have them, then you just need to drive them out.

- One full proof way would be to meticulously clean your room and then get a new mattress.

- Wash your bed cover, pillow cover and bed sheets in warm water. Make this a regular habit.

- Items that cannot be washed in water should be sealed in plastic bags.

- Vacuum your entire room from the walls to the floor. Include all pieces of furniture that can be vacuumed.

- Some products can be used to kill bed bugs. You should however be careful where you apply the products. They could also hurt you if you inhale them in large amounts.

You don’t have to look at a bed bug nymph picture to hunt down the culprits. Once you see suspicious bites on your skin, it’s time to be on the prowl for bed bugs.
